I always shave my legs with lotion and then moisturize them after. Do I do the same with my pubic hair? I don't have my own shaving cream but I could take some of my dads.. But that shaving cream made my skin dry before. What do I do? Do you have any tips? ThanksI am a 20 year old woman if that makes a difference

  • Need some tips on pubic area shaving please! (Female)? - Alright, so I’m 14 and I’ve been shaving my pubic area for a little over a year now. I currently shave maybe once a week and I’d like to shave a little more often then that, but I have a few questions first. 1.) The day after I shave, the hair starts to grow back

    1. I would shave with shaving cream and then after put some lotion or moisturizer on to keep it from getting dried out and itchy. Also, when I first started I got little red bumps, so be prepared for that. I would recommend waxing, although it’s painful the results last for longer and it will get you more hairless. There are some ones that you can use at home.Good luck! :)

    2. okay i have been shaving ever since they started growing. u can shave with whatever; body wash, shampoo even conditioner. i have never heard of anyone using lotion before. after u shave apply rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball. wait about 5 minutes for it to stop burning (u will get used to the burn eventually ) and then u can apply lotion. u will have ur pubic area razor bump/burn free and it will be as soft and smooth as a baby’s butt. trust me, it works.

    3. You definitely want to get some shaving cream. I have extra dry skin, so I go with a lotion based shaving cream. Another trick is putting deodorant on your fresh shaved pubic area as soon as you’re out of the shower. It’s a trick that women use that have to shave everyday.

    4. Shaving cream is usually the best to shave pubes with. You can always buy your own that has moisturisers in it, so it’s less drying. And putting lotion on your pubic area is fine, just try not to get any inside your vagina; that could possibly lead to infections, which wouldn’t be fun.

    5. Well you should get some shaving cream for your privates, trust me. And yes your should moisturize it. You’re more likely to get razor rash/burn down there than your legs.

    6. I usually rub some moisturizing bar soap on that area after I shave so it becomes really soft. That would be best. Here’s how to shave your pubic hair: 1st pluck/wax some of them while they’re long. Then cut the hairs short. Apply conditioner or something creamy to the pubic area. Then shave upwards in the opposite direction of the hairs with a 5-bladed razor. Be sure to shave hard to make it smooth. Afterwords to avoid getting beginners side effects wash the area off with acne cleanser or anti-bacterial dishwasher soap. It only takes me 5 minutes to shave it I shave about 3x a week. If done right you will be incredibly smooth like me. If you do experience beginners side effects don’t panic, just put acne cream on the bumps, pop them if you can, keep up the shaving routine, they should go away within a month. It’s just like starting a new medicine. You could also try applying rubbing alcohol after you shave. That’ll help prevent red spots. You can also get it removed permanently with electrolysis which is painful costs $55 an hour. I’ve gotten 3 treatments on my pubic hair. For girls it makes their periods easier to clean up because the hair traps in blood. It’s cleaner because hair traps in odors dirt is one less thing to wash when you take a shower. One of the reasons I started shaving is because pubic hair was a distraction when I saw that area, I would kill time twirling the hairs.
